Foundation Course in Tarot

This is for you if you are starting out, as it presumes no pre-existing knowledge, or have just a basic familiarity with the Tarot. Your eight weeks on this course will ground you in the 78 archetypes of the deck and enable you to work with their symbolism, individually and in basic patterns.

By the end of the Foundation course, you will be able to use the cards for contemplation, personal growth, and for simple readings for yourself and friends. Homework is an essential part of this course, which works in tandem with the lectures and class activities. You will come out of the course loving the Tarot's imagery, appreciating its depth, and grounded in the basis of its secret language.  You will most likely also learn some interesting and inspiring things you probably never expected, and make new friends along the way!  Diana Taylor is a lively teacher who is committed to excellence in instruction. She has a clear philosophy and approach.


Intermediate Course in Tarot 


This course is for you if you have completed a foundation course at Treadwell's or somewhere equivalent. The focus is on the Major Arcana, exploring esoteric concepts underpinning the symbolism in the cards, taken from Western astrology, kabbalah, alchemy and mythology.  Differences and similarities between the Rider-Waite-Smith and the Thoth Tarot are examined.  The course is geared towards developing a meditative way of working with the Tarot as a tool for personal development and spiritual unfoldment.  Advanced interpretation and divinatory skills are also honed: here students benefit especially from Diana's long experience as supervision and guided exercises form part of teaching. Optional weekly homework reinforces the learning done in class, and helps personalise learning.

Advanced Course in Tarot

The Tarot advanced course is for students who have successfully completed one of Diana's own Tarot Intermediate classes or another intermediate course at Treadwell's. If you have an intermediate level of competence, but studied elsewhere, we would like to hear from you; just email and we can discuss whether this course is right for you. Maximum eight students per class, and course material is tailored to the particular needs of those attending.
